Year 4

Wow. We are now entering our fourth year doing this. Fourth year at Hogwarts. Considering how this year has been going I wouldn’t be surprised if He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named rises again. To say this year was a struggle is an understatement. Not just for us but for the world. We have an ongoing pandemic. We have protesting for equality. And we’ve been stuck at home for the last few months. In our neck of the woods, we stopped recording for a bit, and to be honest I thought that was it. That we wouldn’t come back and after all the hard work we’ve done to that point, we would just let it go. We didn’t. We haven’t. We aren’t going to anytime soon. In fact, the opposite happened. If you have been following us for the last four years (and thank you for that) then hopefully you can tell we’ve done a lot. We’ve moved the site from Wordpress to Squarespace, and are now instead of hosting on our own, we are hosting via Spreaker which is giving us a lot more in terms of being able to expand. Previously we were on 6 platforms by ourselves and we have now expanded to over 10, which will allow us to reach even more people. The best part is, we are not done.

We are planning some really cool things down the line. You’re going to see something new from us. As our fourth year begins we will soon be reaching a huge milestone in Episode 100. We should be reaching it within the next two months if all goes as planned. Our audience has grown, and downloads have never been higher. I know I take this time every year to thank all who listen, but truly thank you. Knowing that our voices are being heard, and hopefully entertaining you, means a lot. And as always, I thank my cohost and friend Jace, who to this day still pushes me and pushes us towards reaching higher goals. I know he wants this to be as successful as I want it to be, maybe even more so. He believes in this podcast so much, and I thank him for that. I believe in it too, or else I wouldn’t still be here. I’m thrilled to see where we go from here. In Year 3’s post I wrote about how I didn’t know where I wanted this to go or what to do. To be honest. I still don’t. But, a path is starting to be laid out. Where that path will lead, I’m not sure. With our new partners in Spreaker however it may make things easier for us going forward. We’ve already been throwing out ideas on live episodes and getting back to Twitch streaming. But all in good time. Our next priority is Episode 100. After that, we’ll see.

Year 4 is going to be a fun one. I can tell already. You’re going to be seeing a new FGC Podcast, and hopefully one for the better. If you’ve stayed around this long, then hopefully you’ll stay around as long as we can keep you entertained. Thanks for being here, and we’ll see you in the next episode.
